Getting Movie Info

Add Selections is accessible from CineCenter's Start Screen as well as in Options > Add Movies. A connection to the Internet is required.

Choose from the Icons to Add Selections to your Collection. You can choose to Type-In a list of Titles (or open an already prepared text file list of titles), select individual Video Files, scan the UPC Barcode of a DVD box with a 'Wedge' type barcode scanner, or add all the the movie files found in a Video Folder.

Oftentimes it is very helpful, and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, to add the Year of the movie after the Title.

If you are not sure of the year, it is worth the time to find out by searching Google or IMDb.com

This will help CineCenter find the correct movie

excluding other movies by the same name, and "remakes".

This is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED when the Title is

only one single word.

Enter the Titles of the movies you want to search for and add to your CineCenter Collection. You can also load a previously saved title list.

Choose individual video files by holding the Ctrl, or Shift key, while clicking files to select multiple files. CineCenter will create a list of these files and a list of *Suggested Titles.

Browse to a folder that contains your video files. All the recognized video files in the chosen folder will be processed. Afterward, you will be presented with a list of these video files and a *Suggested Title which you can edit before adding to your Collection.

* Suggested Titles are based on the filename of the movie file, not the content of the file. Typically, movie files are named according to the movie. For example, "Movie Title (Year)" The Add Video Files Wizard creates the suggested title based on this naming convention.

Use a "Wedge-Keyboard" type Barcode Scanner to scan the UPC Barcode on the back of your DVD Box and press the Search Button, or strike the {Enter} key.

If your scanner software allows, you may be able to include the {Enter} keystroke after the scan. Otherwise, check the "Auto-Enter" option to automatically send an {Enter} keystroke when 12 digits have been entered into the Barcode Textbox.

As Barcodes are scanned a Title List will be built. CineCenter will lookup the number and return the associated Title on record. Press the Edit Button to edit the Titles as needed. Press the Delete button to Remove a Title from the List. You can Export this Title List for later use by pressing the Save button.

CineCenter can also search by IMDb URL or ID number. If you know the IMDb ID number of a movie you can enter it in place of "Movie Title (Year)" to perform a more exact search. An IMDb ID number are the digits that follow "tt" in the IMDb URL.
